Barbara W. Bare, CPA joined the firm in July, 2004. Barbara received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She took post graduate accounting courses at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Barbara began her work in accounting in 1979 for General Dynamics in Fort Worth Texas, where she was employed for 3 years. She worked for many years at Rodenhizer and Whitaker, CPAs, which became Linda Whitaker, CPA upon Mr. Rodenhizer's retirement. She worked for Linda, her sister, for the 11 years that the firm was its own entity. Barbara has several areas of concentration, which include Estates & Trusts, Partnerships and Individual Tax preparation.
Barbara was born and raised in Durham, NC. She still lives in Durham with her husband, Mac and has two sons, Daniel and Michael. Daniel is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where Michael is currently attending.
Spending time with her family, enjoying music, dancing and trips to the beach are some of Barbara's favorite past times. She has a very active leadership position at Dayspring Fellowship Church, where her husband is the pastor. Barbara is also a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Barbara said that one of her greatest achievements comes from a quote from her youngest son, "You are the best mom I EVER HAD." She laughed and said, "Oh well, you take what you can get!"
When asked about working in this field she replied, "Helping my clients with things that have happened each year is one of the best parts of my job. Each client is special to me. I love being a part of their journey."
