Barbara V. Walker, CPA joined the firm in October, 1989. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in accounting.
Barbara has prior accounting experience from Roberson and Curl, CPAs and Duke University Department of Medicine. Her areas of concentration at Roberson CPA Firm, PLLC include: fiduciary and estate services, financial statement preparation, and is in charge of our firm quality review program.
Barbara is a native of Durham, NC and still lives here with her husband, Bill, and son, Luke. Bill works for University GMC in Durham. Barbara also has three step sons.
Barbara has been involved in many community organizations over the years and has held leadership positions with the Durham Jaycees and the Junior League of Durham and Orange County. She attends the Church of the Good Shepherd with her family.
She shared a few facts about herself that her clients may not know about her. Barbara prides herself on being known in elementary school as the "ruler of the playground." She fondly remembers beating all the boys in sports and was also glowing when she raved about holding the record for many years in shot put at the Junior High Championship Division.
When asked about the secret to working here for many years, Barbara said, "There is truly a family atmosphere here. Not only that, but the partners show a great deal of trust by allowing us to establish great relationships with our clients and give us the freedom to use our own working style."
